TREKKING: THE SCILIAR; SYMBOL OF SOUTH TYROL
We start from Compatsch and will walk towards the Saltner Hut which lies at the foot of the Schlern mountain range. Enjoy the lush meadows and the cool freshness of the forests you will walk through on the first part of the hike. Later your way will lead you along serpentine paths past mountain pines towards the Schlern hut. You will then soon reach the Schlern plateau with its endless meadows. This is when you finally reach the Schlern hut – the perfect time for a lunch break. Before heading back - and if you are fit enough, we will hike our way up to
the Petz, the highest point of the Schlern mountain range with its summit cross at 2,564m. Take your time to enjoy the glorious view of the Ötztal glacier, the Stubai glacier, the Adamello and Ortler alps, the Langkofel and Plattkofel and of the Sella mountain range.
